I'm too lazy to be my mother.
Nov. 5th, 2002 08:26 pmThis is what I have realized. I have a lot of the same traits as my mother. I like things organized and clean, and I'm a little anal-retentive, and a little too concerned with what society thinks of me. I'm a little too concerned with having nice things, too.
But unlike my mother, I am LAZY. Which means my house is generally a mess, and has a comfortable lived-in (sometimes a little too lived-in) atmosphere. My 'nice things' consist of swords and aluminum knights - yay! And I have cats, which means no pretty, frail furniture for me - it would just get tipped over or clawed up. This doesn't make me better than my mother - from whom, I hope, I have inherited some of her good qualities as well. She does have a bunch. But it makes me myself, and not her.
The moral of this story is that it doesn't matter who you're like, deep-down. When all is said and done, you're like no one but yourself.
