RPG Mania!
Oct. 17th, 2003 07:48 pmAlmost done with WA3, after many weeks of hunting down EX-File keys so I can look at all the purty openings and endings. Just a few little things to wrap up.
Finally figured out what the Name Tag items were fore. Promptly renamed Mariel - I mean, Florina (I see those long elw ears you're trying to pass off as the tie on your bandana, little girl! Don't think I don't know what's up) - to Aerith, as I am sure the creators of the game would have done, if they did not want to be sued by Square-Enix.
[Square-Enix, incidentally, will receive my firstborn if FFVII: Advent Children is ANYWHERE as cool as the trailer looks. Sephiroth needs to lose the black bodysuit (though it does show off his ass...ets... very nicely and find that cool flowy trenchcoat again, but dayuhm, Cloud's a hottie!]
In other news, they've finally told us who the other playable characters in the WA1 re-make are: Emma, Jane (who didn't see THAT one coming?), and - a surprise to me - McDullen ...whom the Japanese, at least, are calling Magdalen, which makes me think he ought to be drying the disciples' feet with his long hair, or something! The bad news is, no playable Mariel or Elmina, looks like. But I guess I can understand that. Playable Mariel would sorta ruin some of the mysteeeeerious Elw effect, and Elmina *is* sorta bonkers for 7/8 of the game...
If you have not been there yet, the official WA site is here. Check out pictures! *swoon* Emma has apparently dyed her brown hair green, lost the mad scientist look, and gone for sexy schoolteacher. And McDullen is a lot older than I always got the impression he was, sort of dignified silver-haired manservant dude - toting a bad-ass sword! (Yeesh, Mac! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I won't tread mud on the carpet again! AAAACK!)
