Life in a Box
Sep. 1st, 2004 04:50 pmThat's what Minders called it today, and it's apt. I get no direct sunlight, so between that and the privacy issues, there's not much point in opening the shades on my windows.
However, I can live with that, short-term. Life in a box is proving quite cozy. Foam pad on mattress = happy me. It was hard to get up this morning.
Doctor's appointment was inconclusive. For now they are ruling it eustachian tube dysfunction. I've got prescriptions for decongestants and a run of steroids that are supposed to maybe make the symptoms go away, and the name of a specialist to try if that doesn't work. I'd feel better if they could put a definitive label on the problem.
Piano mover was "booked solid" when I called him today and suggested tomorrow morning. I have since scheduled the move for tomorrow - with someone else. Clearly, he doesn't have the time or the inclination to help me.
DU called out of nowhere today, catching me at my most off-balance. Not to offer me an interview, but because they'd heard I "had some questions about the job." My oh-so-intelligent questions were, "Is the position still available, and when will you be hiring?" I am oh so sure I impressed them with my witty repartee. *bangs head on desk*
Unsurprising bulletin: My cats are insane. Given a choice between clean water in their bowl and dirty (literally!) water in the bottom of a planter, they have chosen the planter, every time. May have to re-pot my hibiscus babies in something that my cats can't drink out of.
