Temptation and Virtue
Sep. 19th, 2004 12:53 amYesterday: Went to the Vista Ridge Mall since it's got the nearest bookstore where I can use my free gift certificates. The plan was to Not Spend Money(tm). Go, virtuous me.
I left the mall with zero books, one pair of kick-ass boots (they appealed to my inner cyberpunk), three pairs of jeans, and three tops. I am such a girl.
Today: Spent the day at the Casa del Ewing, where Minders was hosting her book club's monthly tea. I don't read much romance, but she asked me to help her with kitchen stuff, and hey - free scones and sandwiches. The amount of sugar I've ingested today probably doesn't bear mentioning. Hee, hee!
Next Week: The plan is for me to drive to Memphis on Thursday and meet up with Mom and GT, then on Friday, caravan with them to Edisto for my sister's 40th birthday bash (and not incidentally, my own. Er. 28th, though. Not 40th). They go back home Monday; I am hoping to stay a few days longer and do some job-hunting in the Charleston/Hilton Head/Carolina coast area. Because J.Milo points out to me that a face is worth a hundred e-mails. He is wise.
Also, I figure the best way to assure I get an interview invite for next week is to make plans to go somewhere else.
*waves her umbrella madly at the sky* RAIN! RAIN!
