I've been a cheerful vegetable so far, but I somehow feel pious in my vegetation by virtue of the fact that I worked out both Monday and Tuesday. It's amazing how going to the gym can promote low-guilt slothfulness!
Kaplan called me Tuesday, asking if perhaps I'd like to go ahead and schedule an audition date. This, two business days after I received their e-mail. I wish jobs in my field moved on applications this quickly! However, I am happy. Part-time job good, ug wug! I've tentatively agreed to audition December 2, since I'll miss the nearest date (November 13) by virute of being in Dallas for TexRenFest and Cirque du Soleil. I will, of course, owe
storm_dancer my soul if Kaplan hires me, but...maybe I can buy it back with the $100 she will make. :)
I am attempting to bake another batch of bread. It's in the oven right now, but I am dubious - I tried to make wheat bread, this time. (This experimentation was not brave, but a result of a lack of forethought: Halfway into mixing the batter I realized I was almost out of bread flour, so I made a substitution.) We'll see.
Salsa lessons are tonight, unless I get lazy and decide at the last minute not to go. Hopefully I'll kick myself to midtown again, though, because I really enjoyed it last week. In the meantime... hmm, more sloth! Except I need to wrap a few Christmas presents today, and also the much-neglected wedding gift for
selchi and her boy, which has been living in my trunk since their wedding day.
My sister and her boyfriend (long and amusing story there, but it can wait for another post) arrive today or tomorrow - just in time for me to leave town. Mua-ha-ha, New York this weekend! .... New York in November, brrr.
A couple of my friends in NY just had a baby, so I also shopped for gifts to take them when I'm in town this weekend. I have decided that I don't want a kid; I just want all the cute toys and super-soft blankets that accessorize infants. Warsaw claims this is what is called 'putting a snooze on my biological clock'. God help me.
