Collection Day

As in, today is the day I sit down and try to collect myself, mentally and... er... mentally:

1) BEING THAT between my two part-time jobs, I worked over fifty hours last week; and

2) BEING THAT I realized today that I was so busy with non-permanent work that I wasn't applying for the sort of full-time position I want; and

3) BEING THAT IT IS demonlet'S BIRTHDAY - AHAHAHA HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOOK HOW CLEVERLY I SLIP THAT IN; and

4) BEING THAT I realized the devotion with which I hunt for a job is probably directly related to the speed with which I find a good one...and, finally,

5) BEING THAT living with my mother is increasingly driving me bonkers...

...I have decided that it's imperative that I cut back on the hours I'm putting in at Kaplan, and at the Zoo. This doesn't mean I'm backing out of commitments I've made; but I'm not making any more for a while. I'm really, really tired of being in limbo.

That's why I'm particularly grateful to alsafi for handing out a couple of my CV's at the non-profit job fair at Rhodes yesterday. It also seems that someone on the Portal has a son who works at St. Jude, so maybe I can get a line on a job there. This all came up during discussions about Portalfest, which is developing nicely. I am so happy! <3

Today, I worked a few hours for Kaplan, then had lunch with the boss lady. It turns out Atlanta Bread Company was THE hot spot for lunch today: I saw _southernbelle (this time with the right username attached :P) looking lovely in her work attire, having lunch there with a client. And who walks in ten minutes later, but dayoff and his parents.

*sniffle* So glad to be back in Memphis. So very much want a job that will allow me to stay.

Let me just get on that.
