Woke up from a nightmare this morning that I chose not to put in my dream journal, in the hopes that I will forget it. It involved Things living in the garage with me. And not letting me leave. Enough said on that.

So I'm more than a little creeped out. Yeah.

But I also heard the funniest parody I've heard in a long time on the radio this morning, particularly in light of the news report I saw the other day (SO OF COURSE IT MUST BE TRUE) which stated basically that we aren't paying through the nose for gas because there isn't enough crude oil, but because our refineries are operating at 100% capacity, and that lady down the street driving her kids to school in a HUMVEE doesn't give a shit what mileage she gets:

"Well I’ve heard that other countries, are down on the U.S.
A land of mass consumption, our lives filled with excess.
But my Daddy wasn’t fightin’, on Normandy that day,
For the right to drive a Hyundai, I refuse to live that way!

And I’m proud to be an American who gets just 5 m.p.g.
Though I live alone, the car I own can seat one hundred three
And I’ll gladly park so close to you when you pull out you can’t see,
No I’ll never trade my Escalade, God Bless my SUV!"

This soapbox brought to you by me, free of charge.
