Looks like I'll probably be teaching a class at Southwest this semester. I'm alternately cheered and bummed by this, because it means I've blocked off another four months without a permanent job. On the other hand, it will give me time to commit to work at Kaplan, save some money (as long as I don't go crazy at Christmas - good luck, there!), and make some more contacts. I'll be volunteering at the Ducks Unlimited Expo (what used to be the old Great Outdoors Festival) on the Conservation committee, so I have high hopes for meeting some folks there who can help me with a job.

This also means that I know where I'll be for the next few months. So I sent the Chorale director an e-mail last night. He was very happy to hear from me, and I have been enthusiastically invited... to audition for Chorale. :P I was moderately offended by this, seeing as I sang with the group for about seven years, but it seems Tim is reauditioning everybody in the chorale. Does this strike everybody as oddly as it does me?

Anyway, I have an audition time tonight at 7 PM (meaning I'll be late for anime night - please set aside a plate for me and start when you're ready! I'll be there by eight, I suspect). I'm terribly nervous about it. I checked out my range last night, and as I expected, vocally I'm in TERRIBLE shape.

In other news: I replay FF6. I'd forgotten:

1) How nice it is of Edgar to pretend he and his Autocrossbow NEED ANY OF YOU.
2) How much Edgar looks like [livejournal.com profile] shadowstitch. Where's your burrowing castle, Kevy?
3) How much Locke really irritates me. I like the boy, but he's just creepy. "I'll protect you, Terra! I'll protect YOU, Celes! OH, DON'T MIND MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND PRESERVED IN ROSES."
