The four remaining girls seem to be doing well. They've gotten some of their strength back and we're letting them try to nurse from mom. She's able to give them a very little bit, and everybody is happier with the pups snugged up with mother. We'll continue to watch them carefully (because she's still a klutz) and bottle-feed them every hour.

Was up last night till two on puppy-watch, then yielded the floor to my mother and went to bed for a few hours. 5 am still came damned early, though.

Now, coming in to teach class, I find that:

1) The last teacher in this room didn't clean up after class, and I had to put away all their frickin' models. They also left the computer up and running, with the projector on and an overhead on a lit screen - WTF?

2) Possibly this teacher and his (or her) class FLED THE ROOM without cleaning up because they were in danger of freezing to death, in which case they are totally forgiven. Because it's fifty-six -- count 'em, 56 - degrees in here this morning. (I can tell EXACTLY how cold it is, because the thermostat tells me. The thermostat which taunts me from behind the little clear plastic box that the campus has used to lock me out of it.) I've already asked twice for the heat to be turned up in this room. Clearly my request was erroneous, and I should have asked for heat in the room, period. My students are going to complain a lot today, and I really can't blame them. This is ridiculous. What, are we trying to save on power bills?

3) Because the computer was left running and unlocked, I have web access today during my students' muscle lab. *.* Silver lining, baby.
