Vindictive glee
Oct. 28th, 2005 07:56 amLike Gil Wulfenbach, I am understandably cranky at the moment. I am not taking this crankiness out on my students.
However, I'm not really inclined to repeat myself five times for all the people who walked in late. And I do achieve a certain satisfaction from informing them that they'll have to get with a classmate to find out what I announced about their upcoming exam dates and the materials to be tested.
I gave back the pop quizzes from Wednesday this morning. There was less "Whu? Quiz?" than I expected. However, I was absurdly pleased (though not terribly surprised) that my on-time students were more than happy to explain what happened, with justifiable smugness. I really didn't have to say much. (And I was surprised that the quiz got a laugh from several people who weren't there.) I think they got the point. Now let's see if it makes a difference.
The computer station was left unlocked again today. Rock on.
Still three puppies this morning. One of them continues to do very poorly, but she made it through the night, which I honestly didn't expect. The other two are growing like weeds.
