The Weekend as Typed In Three Minutes

whisperflight. Much awesomeness. Our seats sucked, but the cameraman responsible for what appeared on the giant screens above the stage was a sensible type, and kept the camera on Elton's hands at least as much as on his face. Also, our seats were on the "good" side of the piano, even if they were up in the stratosphere. I count myself much pleased. Swung by Blues City to say hello to benma and dropped Whisper off, then headed home...
Saturday: ...where I discovered that I've fallen into a "normal" sleep schedule again. Though I went to bed at one, I woke up at seven and couldn't get back to sleep. Damn! Puttered around a bit and got my students' lab exam written, then went to the TC game. Also much awesomeness! It's been a long time since we had a main group game, and it makes me happy to go to the Lios-place in my mind. Boy, she's a weird egg, though.
Sunday: This morning was my first day on "the new job," singing at St. Mary's. I discovered: 1) There are a lot of really nice people in the choir; 2) There's a lot more ceremony in an Episcopal service than I remember - particuarly if you're an active participant; 3) It makes me absurdly happy to say two "evers" and a "tresspasses." My childhood did leave an impression, it seems. "Debts" just never feels right to me; 4) Protestants have Bishops? Who knew. I honestly thought that was an exclusively Catholic thing, like the Pope. YES, I'M A BAD CHRISTIAN. I DO NOT KNOW THESE THINGS.
After church, I got a behind-the-scenes tour of Northwest Passage at the zoo. The new exhibit is going to be awesome. It almost makes me wish I were a keeper again.
Almost.
There will be polar bears and sea lions and eagles AND RAVENS and black bears, and eventually grizzlies, wolves, and elk. The exhibit design is gorgeous.
And now... I sleep.
