A club I didn't want to be part of.
Apr. 9th, 2006 08:05 pmI came home from the Chorale concert today to discover that my condo was broken into while I was out of town.
First order of business: My cats and birds are okay.
My neighbor, also gone last night, was cleaned out completely. When he got home last night he noticed a light flickering in my place, and called the police. They got scared away before they took all my things.
Realistically, I'm very lucky. I had my laptop with me, and the desktop was too big for them to want. They got about half my DVD collection, a box full of PS2 and Gamecube games (but didn't get to the PS2), an obsolete digital camera, a palm pilot that doesn't work (HAH STICK IT IN YOUR EYE FUCKTARDS), and -- the real kicker -- several thousand dollars' worth of antique jewellry that belonged to my grandmother.
The thieves politely moved my birdcage out of the way as they came into my home.
This earns them no points. I've had a nice cry, and now want to bodily injure the people responsible.
benma and
shadowstitch are officially the best in the world. The former has taken off work tonight and is coming to stay with me, and the latter is coming with him, despite nusring a hangover of epic proportions. I'm taking off work tomorrow to try to get window replaced, reports filed with the insurance agency, etc, etc.
I am calm. I am collected.
I am an emotional basket case.
Edit: They took my box of video games -- including Suikoden I and II -- but left Wild ARMs 4 behind, despite the fact that it was sitting in plain sight on top of the TV. They really are bastards.
