An honest question--
Jan. 16th, 2007 08:39 amWhat is Burning Crusade? All I hear about is the lengths to which people will go to procure it.
So, the part where I decided one of my resolutions needs to be not to over-commit myself? My body emphatically seconds this notion, apparently. Yesterday morning at 6 am, I awoke to absolute misery. I'm still not sure if it was food poisoning or a stomach bug of some kind -- the symptoms were approximately the same -- but it knocked me flat for the rest of the day. (I'd planned to spend my holiday lounging around in my pajamas and doing nothing, but not quite like that!) I didn't eat anything for about 24 hours while my digestive system waged war with the rest of my body, along with fever and joint aches and a headache that probably came of drifting in and out of sleep all day. I entertained myself with a book, which I rarely had any sort of attention span to read, and (more frequently) by a profusion of text messaging. My mom, who is the BEST MOM IN THE WORLD, drove down and brought me gator-ade and soup, so I finally dared to eat about eight PM.
This morning, there appears to've been a cessation of hostilities. But I'm still wobbly, and missing my first class for sure, and likely everything else of import as well. (This is particularly bad as: 1) Today's the first day of class; 2) I only have two classes, and they BOTH MEET TUESDAYS ONLY; and 3) I'm supposed to teach a class for Kaplan tonight.) NICE TIMING, BODY.
I don't get sick often, but when I do, I don't do it halfway. I figure now I'm good for the next several years.
