teslanomaly: (putty)

  • I baked a maple apple pie last night. It turned out damn tasty. This pleases me.
  • As of yesterday, my project proposal to the National Park Service is turned in. It only took a couple of hours, and is a huge weight off my shoulders, making me wonder - why didn't I do that last month, and spare myself the guilt that comes with procrastination? (I think there is a big cosmic scale that tilts between guilt and procrastination, and when the former finally outweighs the latter, you become a prompt and efficient person.)
  • Why does peanut butter come in "creamy" and "extra crunchy" varieties, but not just "crunchy"? Would "some crunchiness, but you can still spread it without ripping a hole in your Wonderbread" be too much to ask?
  • Who's a big nerd, and got a 97 on her Wetlands Ecology mid-term?
  • I have an appointment to get my hair cut on March 14th. I despise delayed gratification, but it's something to which I can look forward, at least. Yay!
  • Why can't you be more like orange juice, peanut butter? Orange juice never gives us this kind of trouble.
  • Casper might be allergic to cats. Okay, not really, but he went to the vet yesterday since I caught him doing the butt-carpet dance the previous evening. Neither parasites nor anal glands appear to be the issue, but the vet says that allergies are sometimes an issue with cats in a new-ish home. He's been given a shot of cortisol and is now back home, in my apparently toxic condo.
teslanomaly: (not gonna like this)
It turns out I might be shallow and lazy.

Because you probably don't care. )

Meanwhile, I attended the opening party of the Madonna Circle's Antiques, Garden, and Gourmet show with my mom and GT tonight (whence cometh the red wine). It was a surprising lot of fun, and the band won my loyalty forever by covering, in rapid succession, Simon & Garfunkel, Indigo Girls, and Counting Crows. Most of the wares were way out of my price range, but I picked up a couple of 19th-century books for cheap: One of Shelley's poetry, and another on Flowers and Heraldry. (I will probably not ever get around to reading either of them - see above, shallow and lazy - but I mean to). I'm crashing at mom's tonight, and driving back home early in the morning to go to my TA meeting.
