I woke up this morning at 7 am.
It's a good thing, since when I checked my e-mail, I had a message from this week's service leader: "Sorry I never e-mailed you about the music for this week, just pick something you like." (Yes, that is EVERY BIT AS UNHELPFUL as it sounds.)
As I was sitting there cursing vehemently, because I'd completely forgotten I was playing this week, the phone rang. It was church-lady, with suggestions.
Which, in the words of the Wedding Singer, IS INFORMATION THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN USEFUL TO ME YESTERDAY.
Ordinarily I keep an eye on the calendar and start pestering people when it's three days till the service and they haven't gotten me a music assignment yet. But no, I told myself: Certainly they understand by now. Certainly if I'm forgetting a service, I'll be reminded when the e-mail with my music assignment arrives.
*facepalm*
See, this is what happens when I lose my calendar.
