Georgia schools apparently don't acknowledge Austen.

(That's the only reason I can fathom that I wouldn't have read her works, at some point.)


The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicise those you intend to read
3) Underline the books you LOVE.

2. Wait, Tolkien's books are listed separately but Pullman's are included as a set? Like Rowling, and Shakespeare? Come on, His Dark Materials wasn't that good.
   
3. Yeah, I know, I'm a freak. I loved Crime and Punishment. Next to Heart of Darkness, it was my favorite of all the non-poems I was assigned in Lit class.
