Karmic Balance
Aug. 17th, 2002 05:42 pmSo, I have a theory - one I've shared with my friends in the past - that whenever something very good or very bad happens in my life, the equal and opposite must take place very soon. (This means that when something terrible happens, at least I can look forward to the compensation. On the other hand, whenever something wonderful happens, I.... worry.)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm a Libra - what do you expect?
The last few days have definitely been an even-scales experience for me.
The bad? Waking up yesterday morning to discover that the hallway carpet and the entire bathroom floor were soaked. A phone call to the apartment office revealed that the sewage line to my entire block of apartments was stopped up - there was nothing I could do except 'wait for the repair folks to get here and hope nobody else flushes their toilet.' At least the carpet cleaning guys were on hand (since they'd had to do *everybody's* carpet), to take care of most of the mess.
The good? I've accomplished a lot in the last few days. Got a bank account and a new cell phone account, with nationwide unlimited minutes on the weekend. Expect calls on Saturdays and Sundays, folks. :) Purchased the supplies to make slushy margaritas... mmmmmm!
The other part of the 'good' is another marvellous Texas discovery: Taco Cabana. Yes, folks! A fast-food mexican joint that serves fajitas, flautas, quesadillas, beer, and margaritas. Fast food margaritas.
Gosh. People are going to think that all I do down here in Texas is drink.
