This is the name of the book I'm reading about stress physiology. (Which I need to finish by the time I defend Thursday. Eh-heh-heh.) The author, R. M. Sapolsky, is both brilliant, and funny as all hell. It makes me happy when scientific writers add footnotes that state:

"For years, in lectures, I've rhetorically compared disease patterns in humans with those of zebras, and when sitting down to write this book, it suddenly scared the willies out of me that I wasn't sure about the business with zebras and ulcers. And then where would we be? What good is a book entitled something like Why Do Zebras Get Ulcers Less Frequently Than We Do and for Some Fairly Different Reasons, Although It's Complicated?"

Ghee, hee.
