No, not the restaurant - although now that I think about it, I crave their desserts. But they've long since gotten rid of the Chocolate Malted Turtle, the heathens, so to hell with 'em.
Today was my first day off in a while, which made me happy. And once I finally dragged my lazy ass out of bed, I was actually productive with it. Go, me!
I spent two and a half hours at Starbucks, prepping for my next Kaplan class. I have found that if I deposit myself in a coffee shop and use tasty beverages as a 'carrot,' then I'll actually get work done efficiently, whereas if I stay home, the computer is far more alluring - and far less productive.
Generally I don't expect to see anyone I know in Collierville - all my friends live in Cordova, Germantown, or the Midtown/U of M area. So I was surprised when I looked up, and there was a familiar face sitting about five feet away. Apparently, the universe has a new rule: If
_southernbelle is meeting with a client, then she and I will run into each other. And I will be working on something Kaplan-related. And also, I will look as grungy as possible, definitely someone she doesn't want the client to realize she actually knows. Poor Belle.
I've been craving salt for the last two weeks. Possibly this means I have been eating too healthy, and need to cram some more greasy, sodium-rich foods into my diet. Accordingly--only for my own well-being, you understand!--I bought myself two big bags of chips at the grocery store.
I also bought two dozen eggs, which I will be cooking (I am not a great chef, but unlike some of my friends *coughcough
shadowstitchcoughcough* I can successfully boil an egg) and coloring this evening. Still not sure what sparkly eggs have to do with the Resurrection, but I'm not complaining. (The biologist in me would relate it in a DaVinci-Code-esque manner to the quote "I am the resurrection and the life," but somehow I suspect it has more to do with chickens than with Christ.)
Warm today. THANK GOD. So happy it's finally spring.
