Who needs a subject line, anyway?

The bad: Chick died yesterday afternoon. Even braced for it, it was rough. You'd think after hand-raising so many, I'd get used to losing them sometimes, but it doesn't get easier. I haven't hardened to it. Broke down its incubator, cried a while, and stayed in a funk the rest of the evening.

Somewhat less bad, but still obnoxious: I had to get up this morning and go to work. Soooo tired.

Very good: alliath came to the zoo when I got off around 1, and we wandered for a few hours and looked at animals. ATTENTION WHISPERFLIGHT!! THERE IS A BABY GOAT.

...also chicks, and baby warthogs, which are tremendously precious. If only they stayed that little and cute.

Also very good: Luau tonight. Have procured pina colada mix and a grass skirt. So very prepared!
