Productivity observation: Turns out the day has a lot more hours in it, if you don't sleep through half of them!

My mom turns sixty next week. I'll be going to Edisto for her surprise party, which should be fun since she thinks I am stuck in Memphis to teach a class. For her birthday present, I have mulched her privet hedges. They needed it badly, and after sweating buckets doing the job, I feel justified in presenting this to her as a gift.
