Fun couple of days. The midnight service at St. Mary's was really pretty - and a lot more packed than I expected, honestly - and a little surreal.

The bishop passed out candy canes. *__*

Crashed out for less time than I'd have liked, and then got up again this morning for a much more low-key church service. Came home and spent the afternoon with the Captain and GT opening presents, then worked on my gift for [livejournal.com profile] liggphys while they finished up dinner. We had - count 'em - TWO turkeys: A traditional one (because it's the only way Mom would do stuffing, and we had to have stuffing) and a deep-fried monstrosity that was TREMENDOUSLY delicious.

My sister gave me the damn pop-tarts back. -.- I am both amused and exasperated. Now I have to keep them until next Christmas! ([livejournal.com profile] alliath, you may not know it, but the box of pop tarts Ann and I have been gifting back and forth since 2001? Your fault. Totally your fault.)

I've moved up in the world, it seems, and instead of Patagonia gear, I got a suitcase from Orvis and a gorgeous lightweight Barbour coat. I will be warm forever and ever. Plus, my Christmas stocking has, as usual, stocked me up on toiletries for a while. Yay!

I am now packing up my new toiletries in my new suitcase, and tomorrow I will put on my new coat and make the trek to Houston to Christmas (yeah, it's a verb now) with my Dad and stepmom. From thence, I fly to L.A. to spend New Year's with [livejournal.com profile] liggphys and his lovely family.

God, I hope I get his present done by then.

Memo to self: Pack dice.
