T minus 2 days

I've started to think I just might have all my shit together in time for these trips! I'm down to just a handful of bothersome things that need doing before I leave town.

Tomorrow I drop off my cats and birds. I'm going to miss my kitties so much. ;__; Three and a half months without them!

I think Elliot the Canary is dying. He's very underweight and listless and floofed up a lot. Some of this is probably because it is spring, and Frodo the Toeless Diamond Dove will not stop trying to do naughty boythings to Elliot. But I can't deny that El is looking bad.... Nice timing there, little bird. I don't want him to die, but.... for my petsitter's sake, if he's going to choose this time to leave, it'd be better if he did it before I hand him over into someone else's keeping.

I plan to hand him over with the caveat that he is at least 11 years old, and that if he dies, I know it was not her fault. (My boss maintains that I should instead hand him over with the assertion that he is my BELOVED PET and that I trust her to take very good care of him....)

All of this is probably simply a digging-in-my-heels reaction to anyone who would dare to suggest I give up my bacon.

Also, now that I have posted all this, I realize that I am sure to die of swine flu.
