"While I'm there, I'll ask G--- about the funding. If we don't get a
definite answer by September, then we'll probably need to re-think
the project. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Don't worry
about the prospectus for now.

Sorry I can't be more encouraging at this point. Don't get discouraged though."

Sorry he can't be more encouraging, but DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. I've been told NOT TO WORRY about a prospectus that I was supposed to defend last month, but don't get discouraged?

Right. This is me, being cheerful and NOT AT ALL PANICKING that my dissertation might be crumbling around me.

Don't get discouraged. I appreciate the thought, boss, but... that's kind of hard.
